What it does
CLI-Anything helps AI agents use ordinary software. It creates a command-line interface (CLI, a way to control a program by typing text commands) for an app, so an AI agent can operate it the way a person would use its buttons and menus.
Its makers say this works with agent tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, OpenClaw and nanobot. The community has built CLIs for many apps, including LibreOffice, Inkscape, Obsidian, Zotero, Calibre, QGIS, Godot and n8n. Demos show agents producing 3D scenes, CAD models, diagrams, subtitles and more.
A companion tool called CLI-Hub lets you browse, install and manage these community-built CLIs from one place. People can also contribute new CLIs or request support for a specific app.
Who it's for
People who use AI agents or AI coding assistants and want those agents to work directly with desktop apps and other software.
Can I use it without coding?
With some setup. You install it with a few typed commands and use it alongside an AI agent tool, so some comfort with the command line helps. New to this? Start here.
