Claude Cookbooks

Ready-to-copy code examples and guides showing developers how to build things with the Claude AI model.

New this week

What it does

Claude Cookbooks is a collection of guides and code snippets for building with Claude, an AI model. The examples are mostly written in Python, but the ideas can be used in other programming languages too.

The recipes cover tasks like sorting text into categories, summarizing documents, reading images and charts, and pulling text out of forms. Some show how to connect Claude to outside tools, such as a calculator or a database, or to outside information sources so it can give better answers.

More advanced guides explain things like uploading PDFs, getting answers in a fixed format, building a content filter, and cutting costs or waiting times. Most examples are notebooks, which are documents that mix explanations with code you can run.

Who it's for

Developers who want practical examples for building apps with the Claude API. It is less useful for people who don't write code.

Can I use it without coding?

Developers only. The recipes are code examples meant to be copied into your own programming projects. New to this? Start here.

Can I run it?

Cost
Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
Computer
An ordinary computer is fine
Privacy
Sends what you give it to an online service
API key
Needed. An API key is a password-like code from an online AI service. What's that?
