What it does
This add-on connects AI coding assistants, such as Claude, Cursor or Copilot, to Chrome DevTools, the built-in toolkit web developers use to inspect websites. It works over MCP, a standard way to plug new abilities into AI assistants.
With it, the AI can open pages, click around, take screenshots, read error messages, check network requests and record performance traces to explain why a page is slow.
Its makers note that the AI can see and change anything in the browser it controls, so you should avoid using it with personal information. Usage statistics are sent to Google by default, with an option to turn this off.
