Chinese LLaMA & Alpaca

AI language models adapted from LLaMA to understand and follow instructions in Chinese.

Research-backed

What it does

This project released versions of Meta's LLaMA model that were retrained on Chinese text and given a larger Chinese vocabulary, which its makers say improves how well they understand Chinese.

The Alpaca versions were further trained to follow instructions. The project also shares its training scripts and guides for running the models on a personal computer.

Its makers have since started newer projects based on LLaMA-2 and LLaMA-3 and recommend that users move to those.
