What it does
BrowserTools MCP connects AI coding tools, such as Cursor or Claude Code, to the Chrome window you are already using. The AI can then see error messages, network activity and screenshots from the page you're working on.
Because it uses your normal browser, you stay logged in to your app. It can also run Lighthouse checks, Google's reports on speed, accessibility and search-friendliness.
The README says a major rewrite removed an open local server and scrubs login details before data leaves the browser, and it urges users of older versions to upgrade because of a serious security flaw.
