Big-AGI

A web-based AI chat workspace that lets you use and compare many AI models side by side.

What it does

Big-AGI is a chat app that works with many AI providers, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others. You bring your own API keys, and its makers say it doesn't charge for or limit model use.

A feature called Beam sends the same question to several models at once and helps you merge the best answers. It also offers personas, voice, image generation, PDF import, web search and code highlighting.

This repository is the free, open-source version you can host yourself. There is also a hosted version with a free tier and a paid plan that adds syncing across devices.

Try it

  1. Open the hosted Big-AGI website, or self-host it using Docker following the project's guide.
  2. Add your API keys for the AI providers you want to use.
  3. Start a chat, or try Beam to ask several models the same question.

Before you install

  • Only download from the official GitHub page. Copies with similar names exist for many popular projects.
  • License (MIT): Very permissive: free to use, change and share, including for business.
  • Keep your API key private. Never paste it into websites or share it, and set a spending limit with the AI service.
  • What you type or upload is sent to an online service. Avoid sharing private or sensitive information.
