What it does
This is a sample app from Microsoft showing how to build a chat assistant that answers questions from your own documents. The method is called RAG: the app first finds relevant passages, then the AI writes an answer from them.
It shows citations and its reasoning for each answer, and includes sample company documents so you can try it straight away. Optional extras include voice input and output and user logins.
It runs on paid Azure cloud services, and the README warns it is a showcase that needs extra security work before real use.
