AutoGPT

Build AI helpers that carry out whole tasks for you, on demand, on a schedule or when something happens.

Widely used

What it does

AutoGPT is a platform for building AI agents, programs that do a job from start to finish instead of just answering a question. You can describe the outcome you want in plain English, or build each step yourself in a visual editor by dragging and connecting blocks.

Agents can run when you ask, on a schedule, or in response to a trigger. They can connect to everyday apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Slack, Notion and GitHub. Its makers give examples like preparing a daily briefing, researching sales accounts or drafting customer-support replies.

There is a paid hosted version that needs no setup, and a free self-hosted version where you supply your own computer resources and AI model accounts. The original standalone AutoGPT agent is still available as "AutoGPT Classic".

Who it's for

Teams and individuals who want to automate repeated work with AI, and developers who want to build and run their own agents.
