What it does
AutoClip is a desktop app that turns long videos, such as podcasts, interviews and lectures, into short clips. You paste a link and pick a platform, such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or Chinese apps like Douyin.
It picks the best moments, frames the person speaking and adds subtitles. It also makes a cover image, a title and post text for each clip. You can fine-tune clips in a built-in editor.
The README says editing and rendering happen on your computer. The software is free, but cloud AI models are paid per use. You can use local transcription and analysis instead, and it explains what is sent online when you choose cloud options.
Who it's for
Podcasters, creators and social media managers who want to repurpose long videos into short clips.
