AIHOT

A website template that collects news from chosen sources and uses AI to pick highlights and write a daily digest.

New this week

What it does

AIHOT is the engine behind a Chinese-language AI news site, released so others can make a similar site for their own industry. You choose the news sources and the rules for what counts as important.

Every day it gathers items from RSS feeds, websites, X accounts and WeChat accounts. An AI model filters and scores them, writes headlines and summaries, groups reports about the same event together, ranks what is most talked about, and publishes a daily report.

All the prompts and selection rules are included and can be changed. The site writes in Chinese by default and needs an AI model key; the author warns that they are not a professional developer.

Who it's for

People who want to run their own AI-curated news site for a field or industry and are comfortable with some technical setup.

Can I use it without coding?

With some setup. It runs with Docker and a few commands, plus an AI model key. New to this? Start here.

Can I run it?

Cost
Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
Runs on
Server, Linux, Mac
Computer
An ordinary computer is fine
Privacy
Sends what you give it to an online service
API key
Needed. An API key is a password-like code from an online AI service. What's that?

Try it

  1. Install Docker and Node.js, and get an API key from an AI model provider such as DeepSeek.
  2. Download the project, create its settings with your key, and start it with Docker as the README shows.
  3. Open the site in your browser and replace the sample sources with your own in the admin area.

Using Claude Code, Cursor or another AI coding assistant? Paste the prompt and it will walk you through the setup.New to this?
