Agent Autoloop

Lets command-line AI agents work in the background and only asks you when a decision is needed.

New this week

What it does

Agent Autoloop runs command-line AI agents, such as Claude Code or Codex, in the background on your own Mac or Linux computer. Instead of you watching a terminal, it picks up tasks on its own: a scheduled job like a daily morning summary, a new issue on GitHub, or an error report from a website.

You write simple rules saying what kind of task goes to which agent and which folder it works in. The agent does one round of work and then stops. When something is uncertain, like deleting data, restarting a service or spending money, it sends you a card through desktop notifications, Feishu, DingTalk, WeCom, Slack or Discord. While it waits for your answer, no agent is running, so no usage is spent. Once you pick an option, it picks up the same conversation and finishes.

It comes with ready-made templates, such as daily briefs, following up on GitHub issues, checking websites and handling user feedback. Its pieces (task sources, agents, notification channels and a code release pipeline) are plug-ins that can be swapped out. The makers say model usage is billed to your own accounts with the AI providers.

Who it's for

People who already use command-line AI coding agents and want them to handle recurring or incoming tasks without being watched. It suits developers and technical users comfortable editing a settings file.

Can I use it without coding?

With some setup. You install it with one command and need Node, Git and a logged-in command-line agent, then edit a JSON rules file. New to this? Start here.

Can I run it?

Cost
Free, but needs an AI accountThe software is free, but it uses an online AI service (like OpenAI or Anthropic), which usually charges for use.
Runs on
Mac, Linux
Computer
An ordinary computer is fine
Privacy
Sends what you give it to an online service

Try it

  1. Run the one-line install script shown in the README, or hand the install guide to your agent to do it for you.
  2. Run the built-in trial to see the agent ask a question, wait for your answer and then finish the task.

Using Claude Code, Cursor or another AI coding assistant? Paste the prompt and it will walk you through the setup.New to this?
