What it does
AG2 is a programming framework for building AI agents, programs that use AI models, call tools and carry out tasks. Several agents can be coordinated to work together, and a person can be asked to confirm steps along the way.
It works with providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and local models through Ollama. It also offers ways for agents to keep knowledge and shorten long conversation histories.
The README explains that the original AutoGen-style version now lives in a separate repository called AG2 Classic, and that the new version is not a drop-in replacement.
Who it's for
Developers and researchers building single or multi-agent AI systems in Python.
