What it does
A2UI (Agent-to-User Interface) is an open standard and set of code libraries that lets AI agents create interactive screens, not just text. An agent sends a description of what the screen should show, written in JSON (a simple structured text format). The app then draws it using its own ready-made parts, such as cards, buttons and text boxes.
Its makers say this keeps things safe, because the agent sends only data, never runnable code. The app keeps a list of approved parts, and the agent can only ask for those. The same description can be shown in web apps built with React, Angular or Lit, in Flutter apps, and in phone apps made with SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose.
Example uses include an agent building a custom booking form during a chat, or making a quick dashboard based on a question. The project also offers a visual editor and a demo theater that run in the browser with nothing to install.
Who it's for
App developers who want AI agents to show forms, cards and other interactive screens inside their apps, on the web or on phones.
Can I use it without coding?
Developers only. It is a set of programming libraries that has to be built into an app, though the visual editor and demos can be tried in a browser. New to this? Start here.
