What it does
n8n is a tool for automating work. You build a "workflow" by linking boxes on a screen: for example, when a form is filled in, ask an AI to sort it, then post the result to a chat app.
It can use AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or open-source providers, and its makers say you can switch between them without rebuilding. It connects to a large number of other apps and offers ready-made workflow templates.
You can run it on your own computer or server, or use the makers' hosted cloud version. People who code can add JavaScript or Python steps for more control.
Who it's for
Office teams, small businesses and developers who want to automate repetitive tasks or build AI assistants that use their existing tools.
Can I use it without coding?
