HunyuanVideo

An openly released AI model from Tencent's Hunyuan team that makes videos from text descriptions.

Research-backedNew this week

What it does

HunyuanVideo is an AI model that turns a written description into a short video clip. This repository contains the model, its downloadable weights (the trained model files) and the code to run it.

Its makers say its video quality is comparable to, or better than, leading closed models. The team has since released related models, such as ones that animate a still image or create talking avatars.

It needs powerful graphics hardware. Community projects add it to ComfyUI, a popular visual tool for AI images, and offer lighter versions for computers with less graphics memory.

Who it's for

Researchers, developers and video creators with strong hardware who want to run an open video-generation model themselves.

Can I use it without coding?

Developers only. Running it yourself means installing Python software on Linux with a powerful graphics card; community add-ons bring it to ComfyUI. New to this? Start here.
