What it does
CodePilot started as a coding tool and has grown into a general AI assistant for your desktop. You connect one of many AI providers, including Anthropic, OpenRouter, several Chinese providers and local models through Ollama, and switch models mid-conversation.
It can remember your preferences, build charts and dashboards, generate images, run scheduled tasks and use add-ons through MCP and skills. You can also message it from your phone through Telegram, Discord, WeChat and others.
Installing Claude Code alongside it unlocks extras like editing files and running commands, but the README says this is optional for basic chat.
